Hi all! It's been a while since the last blog post so I figured I'd make one now because I've been thinking about it lots.
I didn't get any sort of approval before making this one, so stuff might be a little unfiltered or not 'proof-read enough'. So sorry!
So Uh. What's Takin' So Long?
I've heard that one a lot in relation to the downtime with Radium and it's whole 'maintenance' thing... Unfortunately, there is no concrete reason to what's taking so long on Radium and we're working as fast as we can. A lot of us are either super burnt out, or bummed out, or some weird wacky thing with the Radium project that just makes it kind of hard to keep working on it all the time. Some members of the team are also full-time college students with jobs so it makes dedicating time towards radium hard. Trust that progress is being made and that stuff will happen in...time.

What Makes Other Revivals Not Take This Long?
Uh. Artificial Intelligence. I don't like that one too much but I hear this a lot and it's used as like a "ohhh but my revival fig newton rec is 2025 with roomie and all items unlocked and it took 0.000002 days to make what's YOUR excuse" and it's like. The robot. Not you.
Development Gunk
Here's a bunch of development gunk I found for Radium I figured I'd throw in here. This media was captured over the 4 month downtime that Radium was being worked on, and is displayed in no particular order (and is mostly my work because I don't want to show off other peoples stuff)

most of these images have names that (somewhat) explain what they mean. outside of that though its ultra vaugeposting!

invasion!

These images are a mix of the messaging service working for the first time, as well as the first time I've gotten to play around on a post-mid 2023 build, hooked up to my development server. Back in my day, you had your mid 2023 and you liked it!!!!!! Also I mispelt 'newUntil' on the storefront response. Whoops...

These images are super super early and are from when we first started working on the server and got in game. Some of these are related to clubs, and thats because clubs was the first service I was allowed to work on with Radium, and it was a lot of fun! (it's super bad compared to now and I've gotta refactor a bunch of it cuz its bad but hey...)
These images should hopefully give you a pretty good look into how Radium is going right now internally. Unfortunately a majority of these aren't considered "groundbreaking" by todays Rec Room content standards. They're still pretty rad though!
Uh. Trust that just like the other blog post, things WILL get better, and I appreciate all of you SO MUCH for still sticking with and being eager beavers for Radium.
